October First Friday and New Menu at TWL

Hi there, Westsiders!  It’s been a long time between posts, but we’re back now and bringing fall to The Westside Local in style!

First off, we are celebrating October’s First Friday with a Dia de los Muertos celebration!  In addition to our festive decorations, we’re offering $2 off on our Abita “Fall Fest” Seasonal Beer and “Pecan” Harvest Ale as well as our O’Fallon Pumpkin Beer.  We’re also offering 10% off of all our bottled wines, but that special only lasts for tonight so you had better come in for First Friday to get in on this!

Chef Nina Gann and the rest of the crew at TWL are proud to present our new Fall menu.    We have a new Chipotle Glazed Salmon entree that we are excited about, served with mushroom wild rice and an arugala-walnut pesto for $24.  Chef Nina is also introducing a Crispy Pork Belly entree, served with a creamy roasted butternut squash-white cheddar polenta, braised fall greens and garnished with tobasco-onion straws for $17.  For those of you in a more vegetarian frame of mind, we are rolling out a new Grilled Portobello Mushroom sandwich, with portobello mushrooms, roasted bell peppers and caramalized onions topped with an olive tapenade, fresh arugala and our house-made Shatto ricotta.  All of this is served on a toasted Farm to Market baguettini with your choice of side for $10!   Just like the changing of the leaves, we’ve exchanged our Summer Quinoa for our Autumn Quinoa by adding sweet potatoes, roasted cranberries and pecans to the dish you all love so much.   And don’t worry… we’re still serving burgers and charcuterie by The Local Pig and we still have the best darn mac-and-cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches in town!
